?Responsible for electrical design for AP projects.

?Responsible for producing all electrical Engineering / Design documents on a project.

?Electrical Lead Engineer supports the Manager by independently handling the project and as the technical interface with AP project execution teams. The primary purpose is the delivery of a safe, fit for purpose electrical design to an agreed schedule and construction budget.

?Providing support to other AP engineering centers as workload requires.

?Responsible for working on Multiple Projects.




?Be responsible to the Manager, Electrical Engineering (Pune) for all elements of the electrical scope of work on a range of proposals and projects executed in the EMEAI and North America regions.

?Provide input to Air Products design standards

?Assist in the identification of and development of new suppliers and outsourcing partners in the region

?Help define future execution models for electrical engineering scope;

?Help shape the electrical department and how it is to function in the future

?Provide technical assistance to our Electrical Operations department in the region as required including assistance in debottlenecking or refurbishment of existing facilities.

?Ensure compliance with the requirements of EH&S and the national HSE authorities

?Support the creation of , reviewing and approving engineering & design documents as well as protection/arc-flash-studies and fault level calculations to ensure compliance with AP and National Codes & Standards

?Provide technical leadership and governance, support and decision making in the field of electrical equipment and systems, so that plant operation is both safe and economic.

?Work within the Global Electrical Community:

Provide functional support to other areas of AP and in developing standards and procedures for purchase and operation of electrical equipment

Support other regions as requested with technical input or trouble shooting support




1)         Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

?Electrical Engineering degree with minimum 10 years of experience in the industrial gases, petrochemical or allied industry to lead engineering and design of electrical equipment. Chartered Engineer status is desirable, and assistance will be given to attain this if required.

?Proven experience in electrical power engineering working in an engineering design function within the process design industry.

?Some experience in a leadership position with budget responsibility for costs and manhours on major projects

?The ability to perform as lead engineer on a major project, and to lead the electrical engineering team to successfully execute a range of projects

2)         Detailed technical understanding and practical knowledge of following systems is required in:

?MV and LV induction & synchronous motors / generators (experience with larger motors > 10MW will be a plus)

?HV, MV and LV distribution systems, and experience working with a range of switchgear type including a knowledge of protection relays and control systems , including SCADA

?MV and LV Variable speed drive and soft start systems and the ability to select optimum solutions for difficult motor starting conditions

?HV, MV and LV Power and distribution transformers

?Instrument power distribution with uninterruptible power supply systems

?Hazardous area equipment selection and application

?Experience working with software packages for analysis of power systems is desired but not essential ( e.g. SKM Powertools or ETAP )

?Experience in evaluating electrical equipment bidders including evaluation of operational factors such as efficiency and reliability criteria

?Working knowledge of IS and IEC standards is essential. Experience working with U.S.A. engineering codes and design practices including ANSI, NEMA and NEC codes would be a desirable additional skill set.

3)         Other Requirements

?Good communications skills

?Experience in basic & detailed engineering, and support of construction, and commissioning activities.

?Ability to support workload planning and scheduling for the project

?Experience in creating and amending electrical standards & company policies

?Experience in defining best engineering practice

?Ability to manage interfaces with internal (projects, QA/QC, and functional disciplines ) and external personnel (clients, vendors, supply authorities)

?Ability to carry out technical audits on new supplier?s products and facilities
